Become DOUBLE as Happy By Following a Morning Routine

Let me ask you something – what do your mornings look like?

Are you waking up energized & fresh, ready to tackle on whatever life throws at you… or do you more feel like going back to bed?

Trust me when I say, I know that exact feeling. Which is why I wanted to talk about why morning routine is important!

There are no secrets here. Just think about it:

The way you start your day determines what the rest of your day will look – and feel! – like.

If that’s the case – then why not change your morning routine? It’ll massively lower your cortisol levels up from the start and allow you to be calmer, more productive & more focused during the day.

Read on to find out what I do each morning that you can easily start doing yourself!

Here’s a glimpse of what my mornings look like most of the time!

 
 

As you can tell yourself, my morning routine isn’t ideal.

I don’t do cardio for 45 minutes each morning. I don’t get up at 5 AM and write for three hours before work. I didn’t create my morning routine based on the advice of some productivity guru.

But you know what?

My morning routine makes me happy!

It helps me stay happier, calmer & more focused throughout the whole day. Believe me, that’s good enough for me!

I know what you’re thinking – how did I do it?

Well, I didn’t do much.

I just noted down what makes me happy the most and decided to do that each morning.

And I encourage you to do the same!

Here are some things you may find helpful in setting up your OWN morning routine!

Light is LIFE!

Where there’s light, there’s life.

The moment you wake up, get up and open up all of your blinds & curtains. I like to let as much as of natural light as I can into my apartment.

Life gets five times better as soon as the first rays of the sun touch my face.

Play some good music!

You know how most people need lots of caffeine to be fully-functional in the mornings?

Well, I experimented a bit and noticed that playing some good music loud almost has the same effect as gulping down mugs of coffee! Just pick something cheerful from your playlist and you’re ready to make the most out of your day.

Pro tip: You can dance while brushing your teeth or making breakfast. Dancing is guaranteed to fill you up with positive vibes almost instantly!

Drink water

I know – breakfast is important too but you probably knew that already.

However, not that many people talk about drinking water in the morning. Think about it – you’ve spent hours in bed, your body is dehydrated.

Drink at least a glass of water and your body will thank you later.

Shower with a citrusy-smelling shower gel

Citrusy-smelling shower gels would never be my first choice in the store.

However, I read once that the smell of the citrus fruits works wonders for waking you up in the morning and giving you that much-needed energy boost.

I gave it a try and it really does work. Who knew, right?

Next time you’re shopping, treat yourself to a nice shower gel with a citrusy kick. You might be positively surprised.

Spend time with your loved ones

Even if that means spending time with your pets! I cuddle my cat Leo every day – for as long as he allows me to though.

Touch is a powerful sensation we really don’t use as much as we should. Give someone a hug or a gentle tap on the shoulder – both of you will feel better.

Each morning, I try to do most of the things I listed above.

My routine makes me happy, gives me an energy boost and it mentally prepares me for the day ahead.

And I want you to find whatever works best for you. Find whatever makes you the happiest and do that each morning!
