How to Celebrate Life Every Day

Are you happy today?

If you said no, then ask yourself – are you constantly waiting for something big to happen in order for you to be happy? If you are, then you may need to learn how to celebrate life every day.

The reason why I wanted to write about this is that even I often feel like I’m waiting for something MAJOR to happen to me to say that I’m happy. And it shouldn’t be that way!

You and I and everyone else should honor every day a bit more. Have some more fun, know what I mean? Find the beauty in everything. Become more grateful for the little things – and smile more often.

As you can probably tell yourself, I’m over the moon about my new apartment! It’s one of those rare moments when I’m feeling happiness oozing out of my pores!

But you know what? I decided that I no longer want to feel like this only on special days.

I want to celebrate all of my victories, every single day – no matter how big or small.

Here are a few tips to help you enjoy each new day more!


Celebrate every accomplishment

Wasn’t life supposed to be all about the little things? People often forget to appreciate the small victories in a day.

Next time you do something you’re really proud of, celebrate. It doesn’t matter whether that’s buying a new car or getting up at 6 AM to exercise – both deserve the same attention!

You did it – be proud of yourself.

Be happy about it and share your happiness around. Who knows, you may inspire someone else to do the same.

Find a routine you enjoy

Routines that we love the good days even better but also, give us comfort when things go south.

This routine of yours can be anything you like. All the way from reading to writing and doing face masks, pick whatever you think would give you a quick mood boost.

Some people like getting up before others to enjoy a cup of coffee. Others – myself included – do yoga at the park while watching the sunset. The possibilities are truly endless.


Dance to a song

When was the last time you danced?

If you can’t remember, then I suggest you add dancing on your want-to list. (yes, I have a want-to list – it’s the opposite of my to-do list). Pick a song with higher beats per minute. Or pick the hottest summer hit. Or pick your favorite song – and dance like no one’s watching!


Do a gratitude journal

Gratitude journals are a beautiful way to count your blessings. Sometimes, even mentally going over the things you’re grateful about is enough!

However, I suggest you write it down. No need for anything fancy, even a simple notepad and a pen would do.

You can write your journal each day before going to bed. I’ve noticed that this helps me fall asleep faster and wake up feeling happier!


Pretend every day is your birthday

This one’s rather silly – but try it for a day and see how you feel.

It’s so simple and yet it works so well. Think about it: how do you feel on your birthday? You feel special, right?

Well, there’s absolutely no way to not feel special every day. Fake it until you make it!


Laugh at the little things

We don’t laugh nearly as much as we should – myself included. In fact, people are spending most of their days on auto-pilot, jumping from one task to the next.

I say, stop, take a breath – and laugh. Life’s too short not to laugh at least once every day.

If you can’t find anything funny in real life, go online. There are millions of funny videos out there. And Leo is always ready to make your day better!


Treat yourself

I understand that you’re busy – however, take one short moment to treat yourself.

Award yourself even if you’re not having the best day ever.

You don’t have to spend hundreds of dollars to treat yourself properly. Sometimes, it’s enough to treat yourself with a bit of a silence and spend the afternoon reading, away from people. Or watching that TV show you never have the time for!
