Intuition: How to Use it When Meeting Someone New

How does intuition work?

The first thing you’ve got to remember is that intuition is there to help you survive. Believe it or not, it’s how cave people survived – by listening to their gut!

Today, we don’t have the life or death situations our ancestors did – but we do have to deal with people that aren’t always right for us!

That’s where listening to your gut comes to the rescue! There’s that little voice in your head telling you that this doesn’t feel quite right.

I know what you’re thinking now – my intuition doesn’t tell me anything, my gut is always silent, I can’t hear anythingetc.

However, even if you can’t hear that little voice in your head, here’s a secret for you: whenever your intuition feels something’s not right, your body gives you signs as well!

You just have to take the time to learn what the signs are and what your body is trying to tell you.

Here are the signs your intuition may give you:

If your intuition is signaling you good stuff, this is what happens in your body:

  • You feel comfortable around them – the mind is calm, no thoughts rushing

  • You’re okay if they touch your hand or your back – you allow them to enter your personal space

  • You are relaxed & breathe easily – no anxiety or panic arising in the chest

  • You feel warmth spreading around your chest & heart area

  • The feeling of déjà vu happens – it feels as if you’ve already met that person before!

If your intuition is signaling you bad stuff, your body warns you by giving you these signs:

  • You don’t feel comfortable around them – and if this feeling is strong enough, you might even hear the voice in your head telling you to back off!

  • You have difficulty breathing, anxiety in the chest or even a lump in your throat

  • You feel cold on a regular day – you may even start shivering or get chills down your spine!

  • You NEED more personal space around them – can’t bear for them to come closer, touch your hand or hug you

  • You might suddenly get a strong headache or start feeling drained – even if you haven’t done much that day!

Now, this is what I want you to remember:

You don’t have to spend time with a person that makes you uncomfortable!

True – there’s no need to be rude to them just because of the vibe they’re giving off.

However, there’s absolutely no need for you to keep hanging out with them. Politely excuse yourself and back off.

Don’t feel guilty if you chose not to spend time with someone based on what your gut is trying to tell you. Your gut is always right!

Ladies, this is especially true when dating – I started listening to my gut more and saved myself from a lot of heartache. Now, I don’t feel obliged to give someone a second chance if I didn’t like them in the first place.

Once you start trusting your instinct, your life will become much, much easier – and you’ll be able to make better, smarter choices when it comes to your time and who you choose to spend it with!
